A few year ago, David Busfield started a thread probably on TMT . This was about the suppliers of Meccano Ltd.
Today, the list is as follows for Meccano Ltd :

	                                                      Birmingham Eng. Co. Ltd.
Chains for Foden                     Birmingham Associated Chains Ltd.
Aluminium castings                Birmingham Aluminium Casting Company
Dies                                             Thomas Keating of Billingshurst (Sussex)
For Meccano s.a. :
	Plastic parts                                  Ets. Bourgeois
	Tyres                                               Le Joint Français
	Paints                                              Herberts Hadfields
Mock-up and master models   Ets. Monnier Paris
Figures and petrol pumps         Fonderie Roger
	Various printers
Can you add any more ?
Jacques.
Jacques, I seem to remember that the manufacturing of the tinplate tank for the Fodens (and later Leyland Octopus) was done by a subcontractor too. Unfortunately I cannot find it immediately in my documentation, but it may be an indication where to search for this (if I'm right). Kind regards, Jan
Jan,
Thank you for your help, I have checked the drawings of the tank parts job 12 823 to 26, none of them show the suppliers name. The drawings 12 821 "Tanker assembly" and / or 12 822 "Tank" may be where you have seen the name of the supplier.
John may be able to help in this case, I know that he is working hard on the list of jobs 1 500 of which have been identified so far allowing to write the parts lists for some of the models.
Dave--On behalf of all of us members, thanks for all the work you have done on compiling that. It is quite a list, and as you stated, there have to be many more. This should be archived somewhere accessible on the site for future reference.
      Best regards, Terry
I am perfectly happy for it to go into one of the documentation sections of the site. Where it goes is down to Dave K
Dave
David,
This is truly a great piece of work. Congratulations.
Jacques.
I have found another supplier. In my collection are a lot of drawings from Meccano parts. Photo conductive cell No 23304 has supplier "Mullard Ltd" , cadmium sulphide photoconductive cell type RP Y 58.
John.
Testing to see if this saves properly.
Response to Dave Busfield having a problem with saving.
Thank you for this John, I have added it to the list
Dave
David,
