239 Vanwall Racing Car

This Nicky Toys 239 Vanwall racing car is made in a very unrepresentative deep metallic red, in the real world Vanwalls were predominantly, if not always, green.

It incorporates the strange plastic wheels found on Nicky Toys and Maxwell Toys of India which incorporate a kind of rim, or flange,  on the inside.

It does not include the Vanwall name but has a number of features picked out in silver paint. Unlike the early English versions which featured a metal driver the Nicky version has a plastic driver.

The baseplate is interesting as the model is now not a Nicky Toy, or a Dinky Toy but has become an “INKY TOY” and the catalogue number has become 39.

Whilst crude like all the Nicky Toys it does have a certain charm and I am sure it was enjoyed by its owners.
