Anyway, considerably more pleasant than in a real car!
See you tomorrow, Dave!

This is quite a rare item as it only came with the No 125 'Fun Ahoy' Gift Set.

When the boat was sold on its own it never had the driver and lady passenger.

It certainly does, it was only surface dust and came off very quickly.

I need to get some of those boats with figures to go with my three Ford Corsairs with drivers.

I do have a Healey boat with a driver, but this boat's a Hong Kong copy. It's very close to the Dinky, close enough to fit on a Dinky trailer.

The poor staff: tied up since over 65 years already!

My dear friend, I'm desesperately looking for informations about the Dinky Toys real life prototypes. I see you have got some leaflet. So, can you be so kind to tell my someting about Opperman Motocart, Leyland Comet, Studebaker Tanker and Trojan Van specs? I particularly need to know what kind of motors they had and when they have been produced. Thanks a lot for your help. Gianni Catella (whith greetings from Rome!)

Do you have any news about the real life car? I have been looking for it but I could not fine anything.

catellag (not verified)

Can you tell me something about the real Euclid truck?

catellag (not verified)

Amicalement.

Thank you Richard,
I'm wondering about an ABS system in a gun!?
I mean: what could it be for the ABS lettering on the Dinky gun box?
About the Euclid, I'm looking for the real one specs: year of production, engine and so on.
By the way, I can easier write in english, but you can answer to me in french...
Ciao, Gianni

Gianni,
If you are talking about the "Obusier de 155 ABS", ABS means "Ateliers de Bourges" The "obusier" was manufactured in that place.
"A" for Ateliers
"B" and "S" first and last letters of Bourges which is the city where was located the manufacture.

ciao

One would almost forget that this thread is meant to be used for special photography, so I thought of a compromise:

Wow! That's very good to know. You have been really very kind, Richard. Where do you live? I'm Italian and I live in Rome.
Thank you again, my friend

Yes Jan.
Absolutely ! It's the new Maginot Line against ... the ants !

And accessorily, against the german air force !!

I see, this is serious Dinky war business, Richard!

Now some more in the same category, and also the Obusier in comparison with the British 5.5" Medium Gun. See the similarities and for instance the difference in French and British shades of army green.
I guess their quality has a 'photo special' character:

Please note that - because of the complex assembly of these models - both guns have unusual painted axle ends, painting done after completion of the whole model, and not the separate parts painted before assembly, as usual!

Kind regards, Jan

You are right Jan ! and I think that we find the difference of shade between both army green on each Dinky vehicles.
Just have a look !

friendly yours

Richard,

At the bottom of page 1 of thic topic, is this an original Air France Isobloc ? A second one as Robert Goirand has one as well but in a very poor state. Roulet wrote that it will be made in China.
