On permanent exhibition in front of the D Day museum in Arromanche (France)
Great photo of the gun.....thanks Jacques!
Best regards, Terry
... and another one, on display in the middle of a big roundabout somewhere between Birmingham and the Iron Bridge. A famous Dinky Toys expert handling the gun. Those were the days, Jacques, back in 2008!
Down below a photo of the Dinky model, accompanied by its French counterpart no. 80E Obusier de 155 A.B.S.
I received my Gunnery training on the 25pdr and 5.5" guns, called the G1 and G2 respectively in the Artillery of South Africa, way back in 1985. I see the one real live 5.5" gun in France is fitted with the welded Trail legs while the other 2 guns on display were fitted with the riveted versions of the trail legs. We had both versions in the Artillery of South Africa.
