-150 and 600 Royal Tank Corps Personnel / Armoured Corps Personnel (1937-55)

I have just acquired this set of pre-war Royal Tank Corps Personnel. At the moment they are unstrung but I would like to re-string them so that they are held firmly in the box. Can anyone provide a photo of the underside of the box so that I can see the correct way to do the stringing?

I would be most grateful for this information.

Chris.

Hi Chris, coming back to your request I presumed my post-war Train & Hotel Staff set is strung in a similar way. But this one has a cardboard insert on which they are mounted, which fits so tightly, that I cannot take it out without force (and possible damage). Nevertheless, this detailed picture may give you inspiration. I guess it cannot be too difficult to do the stringing at the back. But if you want to copy the original stringing exactly, I'm afraid you will have to wait till another of our members will help you. Kind regards, Jan

Jan,

Thanks for your post. However you will notice from the photos that the figures in set 150 have two pieces of cord around them, one around the legs or body and one around the neck. Also the base is not in a groove. Anyway I went ahead and re-tied the figures to the bottom of the box and the result looks reasonably OK. However if a photo of an original set turns up I can always do them again.

Regards,

Chris.

Many years ago, Peter Golden wrote on TMT about the two different sets having different height for the figures. At the time I did not take much notive of this but now I think that this information is missing from the still growing Encyclopaedia. Unfortunately this information was lost when Nigel closed TMT. Could some one explain this matter here again  ?
Thanks and regards

I will see you in Peterborough.
