This weekend a nice boxed model of the Bedford TK crash truck arrived. It was advertised as an Atlas repro version, but on the photo i recognized it as an original Binns Road product.
Because i own several versions of this crash truck my intension was to sell my played-with version of the Top Rank truck. After close inspection i found that on this boxed version there is a difference on the back. My other 2 trucks have a decal there which is not applied to this boxed version. May this be a factory error?
I posted some photo’s of all my six versions to start this thread. ( the only thread available is the Atlas version)
I have never seen six of them together like that. Nice.
Complementing the other thread on 434, I attach a picture of my Top Rank. I hazard that it was the earliest issue where the ‘white’ of the cab is creamier than the rear (as separately sprayed probably why they went to two colours on later liveries). Interior is pale green, and winch is grey. This rear/base casting found its way to France as used on 589 Berliet still with the English details on the bottom, albeit with a spare tyre rear of the narrower Berliet cab.
