I have been asked by someone coming to the UK if there are any museums in the UK with collections of Dinky Toys. I know the Brighton Toy and Model Museum has a collection. Does anyone know of any others??
Dave
The South Yorkshire Transport Museum near Rotherham has several cabinets containing modest collections of Dinky Toys and other model vehicles, as well as some interesting full-size exhibits and displays. Open to visitors on Saturdays, with additional Open Days (with free vintage bus services to and from Rotherham town centre) on the second Sunday of every month.
Myself and other members of the National Association of Road Transport Modellers put on displays, often containing Dinky Toys, at these Sunday events.
Thanks very much for this Kevin.
I will pass on the information.
Kind regards, Dave
